Swiss tuning firm FAB Design has just pulled back the sheets on its powered-up Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG proposal. Though the company has yet to publish all the details, we do know that the tuner found a way to extract 40 more ponies from 'Gullwing' door supercar's V8 engine pushing total output to 611-horsepower. The extra oomph allows the SLS AMG to do the 0-to-100km/h (62mph) sprint in 3.7 seconds instead of the stock model's time of 3.8 seconds.

FAB Design has also crafted a new body kit for Stuttgart's supercar comprising a restyled front bumper with added vents and a lip spoiler, side skirts, a race-like roof scoop, a new rear bumper that houses quad exhaust tips and a fixed rear wing. The 20-inch alloy wheels and the lowered suspension round off the changes.

Less than a month after taking the wraps off the regular CL-Class facelift models, Mercedes-Benz went ahead and revealed the flagship versions of its über luxury coupe, the 2011 CL63 and CL65 AMG models. Both cars will have their world premiere at the Paris Motor Show and arrive in U.S. showrooms in November.

On the outside, there are some subtle styling tweaks on both AMG models such as the redesigned front bumper with LED daytime running lights, the more "V"-shaped grille, a contoured hood, larger headlamps and a reworked rear bumper with newly styled tail pipes. Interior revisions are limited to the new steering wheel, higher-quality trim materials and different color options.

The most important changes, however, are in areas you can't see. Starting with the CL63 AMG, out goes the old naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8 and in comes the smaller, lighter yet more powerful 5.5-liter V8 with twin-turbocharging and direct-injection technology, hooked up to an AMG Speedshift 7-speed automatic.

In standard form, it churns out 536HP at 5,500 rpm and 590 lb-ft of torque from 2,000 to 4,500 rpm propelling the CL63 AMG from zero to 60mph (96km/h) in 4.4 seconds, and on to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250km/h).

Add the optional AMG Performance package, and output climbs to 563HP and 664 lb-ft of torque allowing the coupe to reach the 60mph (96km/h) mark in 4.3 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 186 mph (299km/h).

Mercedes says despite the power and torque increase, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions have been reduced by around 27 percent and 30 percent respectively over the older naturally aspirated V8.

In addition the new engine, the 2011 CL63 AMG receives three new systems as standard (Direct-Steer, Torque Vectoring Brake and crosswind stabilization) that promise to improve handling and safety.

Meanwhile, the range-topping CL65 AMG continues to use a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. However, AMG engineers have tweaked the V12 unit which now produces an additional 17HP for a total output of 621HP, while torque remains the same at 738 lb-ft. The car is capable of accelerating from 0-60mph (96km/h) in 4.2 seconds continuing to a limited top speed of 186mph (299km/h).

The second-generation Mercedes-Benz CLS will debut at the 2010 Paris Motor Show at the end of September, but it's always a good time to read a little more about it - especially now that the Stuttgart-based automaker finally came out with official shots and some initial details.

Instantly recognizable as a segment-creating CLS, the new model inherits its nose's blunt, coupe-derived styling from the SLS.

The CLS is not only Mercedes' 5th Avenue flagship, it's the face of the so-called 4-door coupe market; therefore, it stands to reason that the newest 4-door coupe would be loaded with tech. I'm sure it will be, but other than the full-LED headlamp assembly, there wasn't much mention of anything but looks, materials, and something called PASSION leather in the press release (engine lineups have been accurately predicted by now, anyway).

Inside, the information stack - much like the nose - also feels like it is derived from the SLS with its climate controls in the kink at the bottom. The interior can be had in five different colors, five different trims (3 wood, 2 synthetic), and three types of leather.

The wood choices are high-gloss brown burr walnut, high-gloss black ash, and satin-finish light-brown poplar (by far the coolest if you need wood); if you're feeling a little more sporty, there's always piano lacquer or carbon fiber.

The car's seats and dash are hand-sewn, and the dashboard leather has been pre-treated to handle a lot of direct sunlight (no special forms to worry about here like with BMW's Frozen Gray M3).

A PASSION option nets buyers super-soft, hand-chosen 1.6 mm-thick leather. Mercedes says "the natural pore structure remains intact," but also that "the natural characteristics also remain visible for the most part, [so] the semi-aniline leather requires a very precise manual selection process."

Vorsteiner has a new aero kit for the latest AMG E63, and it's called the V6E. The body kit consists of a front lip spoiler, trunk spoiler, and diffuser all made of carbon fiber.

Also part of the package are Vorsteiner's forged V-308 rims, which have an interesting claim to fame if you take Vorsteiner at their word: they're "the most concave wheel available on the market". Hey, whatever helps you stand out.

The CL 500 “Trademark Centenary,” anniversary edition features an AMG Sports Package, a unique exterior paint finish from the designo collection, a hand-stitched designo aniline leather interior and black piano lacquer trim. Of course, no anniversary edition would be complete without a little custom badging, so inserted into the CL Trademark Centenary’s center console are the two aforementioned star and Benz emblems, crafted from gilded plate brass.

This is the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3, a racing version of Merc's incredible Gullwing supercar. The SLS GT3 uses the same naturally aspirated, dry-sumped 6.2-litre V8 as its road-going SLS AMG counterpart, and FIA-spec air intake restrictors will peg power back to around 600bhp. The exact power output, and the kerbweight, will be confirmed later in 2010 in line with the FIA’s ‘Balance of Performance’ principle for the GT3 series.

The road car’s seven-speed dual-clutch ‘box has been thrown out though, in favour of a six-speed sequential paddleshift transmission that drives the rear wheels. Together with the lower kerbweight Mercedes claims the GT3 racer will hit 62mph in under 3.8 seconds and top 180mph (depending on the final drive ratio, of course).
